Family Peer Support
Across the NWNODN there are a number of local peer support groups. Please click on the further information links to find out what each group has to offer. Other units also offer peer support, organised locally, so it is always worth asking the Nursing Team if there is anything on offer. All the groups are run by parents who have experienced having a baby on a neonatal unit and are very aware of the practical and emotional issues which may arise whilst on your neonatal journey. Parents of both premature and unwell term babies may access the peer support provision.
Whilst Spoons mainly offer support in the Greater Manchester area they have an excellent website that all parents may benefit from visiting – www.spoons.org.uk
During the Covid19 period the NWNODN have put together a list of some of the support available across the region (See latest news).
