8 cots providing short term intensive care, high dependency and special care for babies 31 weeks gestation and above.

Parents of babies of long stay babies on unit exempt from charges, after NNU staff have registered car registration number with the trust.
Other visitors parking via parking eye, requires ticket from ticket machine in car park. Cost 20min free. £2.20 per day. £11 per week. Option to pay at end of visit.

Other visitors 3-4pm and 7-8pm daily

1 parent bedroom with TV and DVD player
1 parent kitchen/sitting room with microwave, fridge and hot/cold drinks facilities.
1 parent shower room and WC with baby changing facilities

FAB support provided by local Children’s Centre
NNU admission packs with written information including Baby care, financial support, infant feeding, kangaroo care.

Sibling Areas

Toys for siblings in parent kitchen/sitting room, requires adult supervision.

Support for Going Home

Parents can be fully involved in their baby’s care throughout their NNU stay and are taught tube feeding and how to administer medications to their baby.

Support after discharge provided by the Children’s Community Team based on the Children’s ward.

Christian service in hospital chapel Sun 18:30.

Appropriate religious leader contacted on request.
